Amazon Arrives in 2027: Where Diablo IV Goes After BlizzCon 2026

A common misreading says that because Diablo V was announced, Diablo IV is winding down.

Rhykker’s 13 September 2026 video rejects that directly: BlizzCon 2026 announced Diablo IV’s 2027 content in the same event, and the two projects run in parallel.

Amazon: a 2027 class

The official announcement carries more than a headline:

• Four archetypes: Champion, Skirmisher, Ranger and Commander.
• New weapon types: the returning bow and the javelin, which is entirely new to Diablo IV.
• Where she is from: the Amazon homeland of Skovos, which first appeared in this game in Lord of Hatred.
• Timing: the first half of 2027. No date or numbers yet.

Rhykker’s read is that Amazon is being announced as a class pack rather than an expansion, because Blizzard has not attached a new region or campaign to it. That is an inference; Blizzard has not explained how it will be sold.

Why he calls season 15 the biggest yet

His list matches Blizzard’s own notes:

• 20 bosses from past games return in a single season, with three full questlines recreating locations such as Tristram Cathedral, the Worldstone Keep and the Durance of Hate.
• Three Prime Evil capstone dungeons, one of which puts Diablo himself on screen in Diablo IV.
• Deckard Cain returns as a voice, with the original actor recording new lines for the season’s guide.
• Soul Splinters of the Prime Evils. You wield their power, but equipping one can also trigger an ambush by that Prime Evil’s echo.
• Account-wide War Plans. Season 15 shares reputation across characters on the same account, the single most-liked change in the comments.

About Diablo V

The opening ceremony confirmed Diablo V for a Spring 2029 window, set in a Sanctuary where Diablo has won.

Rhykker’s position is straightforward: it does not change Diablo IV’s cadence, because 2027 still has Amazon and further seasons. Diablo V gameplay has not been shown, so this page only records what was published.

What players latched onto

The most popular comments are not about the new class but about account-wide War Plans, with players saying they will come back now that progress is shared.

Next is the map. Some want past regions opened permanently, and others noticed that Skovos being the Amazon homeland sets up the class.
